Nya Ferguson, MPH
Project Associate Specialist

Nya Ferguson is a mission-driven public health strategist, coalition builder, and equity-centered evaluation professional with nearly a decade of experience partnering with nonprofit, community-based, and public-sector teams to advance health equity among Black and other historically marginalized communities. Her work is rooted in people-centered, culturally informed practice supporting organizations as they strengthen capacity, deliver meaningful technical assistance, and translate community insight into programs that improve health and well-being.​​
Nya’s career spans community-engaged research, health policy, and program evaluation, with a consistent focus on helping partners move from “good intentions” to measurable outcomes. She has supported cross-sector coalitions, peer learning networks, and community partners to elevate community voice, align stakeholders around shared goals, and develop clear, practical recommendations that inform strategy and continuous improvement. Known for her warmth, reliability, and thoughtful communication, she brings a steady, collaborative presence to projects connecting relationship-building with strong planning, documentation, and follow-through.
Nya holds a Master of Public Health and a Bachelor of Science in Family Science from the University of Maryland, College Park, along with a Women’s Studies Certificate. She enjoys traveling and seeking out new experiences with friends and loved ones.
